With the arrival of April comes National Pet Month, a whole four weeks to show our furry friends just how much we love them – as if we don’t do that enough throughout the year.
At Matfen Hall, we boast pet-friendly areas and rooms, so that when staying with us in our magnificent Northumberland estate, your best friends can also enjoy unparalleled elegance. Here, we explore several ways your dog can feel spoilt during an April stay.
An Unforgettable Break For All
Beginning with your stay, we offer dog-friendly bedrooms in every classification throughout the hotel. So, whether you are enjoying a spring escape to one of our Luxury Suites and are looking to unwind in the charming atmosphere of our Classic Rooms, your loyal companion can stay with you. And, with a special doggy pack left to welcome them, they can feel instantly at home.
Northumberland-based influencer Coastal Custodian recently stayed with their two dogs and had nothing but praise for the jewel in Northumberland’s crown.
“Staying with Lola & Louie at Matfen Hall was pawsitively amazing! From the super spacious room and cosy dog beds to the gourmet treats in their garden room, they felt like VIPs – Very Important Pooches.”
Staying on a Sunday allows your dogs to enjoy a special lunch, just as Coastal Custodian did. They were also impressed that every fresh bowl of water provided came with ice cubes, to keep Lola and Louie cool, a real must as we approach the warm weather months.
Dining With Your Dog
Our range of dining destinations leave you spoilt for choice at any time of the year, but spring brings true seasonal indulgences for you and our four-legged guests.
Cloisters Restaurant and Bar’s lounge is perfectly situated for you to enjoy delicious à la carte dishes while admiring views of our majestic stained glass window. Well-behaved dogs are welcome to relax at your feet as you discover steak and seafood classics. With stylish furnishings and a sophisticated atmosphere, our lounge offers a dining location that is a photogenic as your loyal dog.
From mid-April, The Orangery will re-open as a place to sit and unwind with a refreshing drink during your escape. Whether you wish to recline during the morning sunshine or sit and admire views of our unique parkland as evening falls, this pet-friendly space allows you to truly relax. It is also incredibly handy for you to simply walk out of this refined location and onto our Terrace, the ideal place to capture sun this spring.
Outdoor Adventures
Whether you’re looking for somewhere to enjoy the peace and quiet synonymous with spring in the countryside or wish to explore enchanting gardens, our grounds allow you and your dog to discover Northumberland’s nature at its finest.
While away the spring afternoons by unwinding in a tranquil corner of Le Jardin Hollandais or stake a place on our expansive Terrace and soak up the warm weather as the dog sleeps in the sunshine. Our parkland offers a stunning piece of Northumberland to wander round, with wildlife to spot and nature to admire, meaning there is something to please every dog during your spring stay.
