The Douglas is Matfen Hall's newly christened 18-hole championship course - designed to challenge, inspire and reward golfers of every skill level.
Named in honour of the estate's heritage, The Douglas combines nine newly designed and reimagined green complexes with the classic character of the original layout - dry-stone walls, natural water hazards and the meandering River Pont - all feature across an 18-hole journey through some of the north of England's finest countryside.

The Keepers
Overlooking The Douglas, our championship golf course, The Keepers is a space for guests and members to enjoy the gentle beauty of our Northumbrian estate. Informal and inviting, stroll off the green and into the cool elegance of our purpose-built lodge, balcony and patio for 19th hole libations and a meal. Also housed are our golf instruction and club fitting facilities, simulator for golf or football and our well-stocked pro shop.
