With a focus on capturing the essence of Matfen Hall – exceptional quality and unparalleled luxury – this special-edition, small-batch gin is crafted in collaboration with Foxdenton and is named with a nod to the history behind our grand hotel, which began back in 1832.
We wanted to make a solid, classic and juniper-forward London Dry Gin, superbly balanced with notes of fragrant citrus and subtle spices. Coriander and angelica – amongst other botanicals – round the drink to perfection, creating a beautifully satisfying gin that echos the magnificent setting in which its served.
We will be serving 1832 as our house gin, and while we recommend enjoying it with a non-flavoured tonic, it gives an extra dimension when added to any of our classic cocktails.
