Spectacular, secluded and set in an unspoilt corner of Northumberland, golf at Matfen Hall is a world apart from the everyday. Part of our 5-star country house hotel and set in 300 acres of Northumberland countryside, our courses offer challenges shaped by the history of the estate and natural beauty of the land.

Explore The Keepers, home to a sophisticated restaurant and bar overlooking the course and The Golf Lab, with the latest simulator technology, a laser-guided putting studio, and custom fit service.
Complete with an additional 9-holes, as well as a Par-3 short course and Himalayas putting green - and a soon to open Driving Range and adventure golf facility - everyone and all skill levels are welcome 7 days a week.
OUR COURSES
Set in timeless Northumberland countryside, The Douglas - recently reimagined with nine new green complexes - offers 18 holes of championship golf for enthusiasts and new players alike.
The Douglas follows the original shape of the Northumbrian landscape, incorporating unique hazards including a dry-stone Ha Ha wall, mature woodland and the meandering River Pont.
Dewlaw offers a nine-hole alternative to The Douglas, equally enjoyable for golfers of all skill levels and challenging in its own right.
Also on the estate are our nine-hole Par 3 and Himalayas putting courses, soon to be joined by family-friendly adventure golf.

The Keepers
Overlooking The Douglas, The Keepers is a space for hotel guests, visitors and members alike.
A purpose-built facility, it houses our Pro Shop and The Golf Lab - an innovative space with the best and brightest simulator technology, teaching studio and custom fitting workshop.
Its restaurant and bar offers informal dining with an outdoor terrace and panoramic balcony, providing unparalleled views of the estate.
THE GOLF LAB
Play, practice and perfect your game with the latest technology in The Golf Lab. Located in The Keepers, it’s home to our innovative new Teaching Studio, Custom Fit service and Simulator Studio.
With the latest in Foresight Hawk simulator technology and a laser-guided putting green, it’s your space to perfect your swing with our PGA pro or have fun with friends to play famous courses from around the world.
HIMALAYAS PUTTING COURSE
The beauty of putting is that everyone can do it - and on our brand new Himalayas course you can savour a relaxed half-hour of fun amongst our 300-acre estate.
For just £5, enjoy complimentary putter hire and a Matfen branded ball to take home - so grab friends and family and pay us a visit.
No booking required, simply visit the Pro Shop or hotel reception. All we ask is for you to wear flat shoes, to protect our wonderful green.
THE ACADEMY
Arriving later this summer, Matfen Hall's new practice facility sets a new standard for golf in the north of England.
A 15-bay Toptracer Range and short-game area go alongside an all-weather 18-hole adventure golf course - designed and built by James Edwards - and our existing much-loved Par 3 course.
At the present time, the Par 3 course is open but only accessible by checking in at The Keepers.
