Introducing Our New Head Chef

This autumn, we are delighted to introduce Ernst van Zyl as our new Head Chef. Ernst will be joining us in late October, introducing a modern and innovative approach to cooking that has been developed through time spent in his native South Africa, the USA and Scandinavia. 

Having been awarded 3 AA Rosettes in previous roles, Ernst is excited to provide guests and visitors of Matfen Hall with expertly-curated courses, demonstrating his international and multicultural experience while elevating each dining event into unforgettable occasions.
