Matfen Hall is easily accessible by a short 50-minute flight from Heathrow or a 2hr 30min scenic East-Coast train journey from King’s Cross, after which our driver will be waiting to transport you to our estate.

Stay at the height of luxury
Upon arrival, the first thing you will notice is the ornate architecture steeped in 17th-century history that stands proudly in front of you. Inside, a signature cocktail awaits you. Enjoy it in the grandeur of our Great Hall, warmed by an open fireplace and richly patterned Chesterfields surrounded by silk tapestries.
For the complete country-house experience, this package includes overnight accommodation in a Great Hall Suite or Premium Room. Each is uniquely designed with light powder blues, greys and silvers with emperor-size beds, velvet-upholstered sofas and armchairs, interior designed linens and bespoke art. Some feature an antique wardrobe, others a period fireplace, but all are complete with stunning bathrooms dressed in white marble.

A non-refundable deposit of 25% is required at the time of booking to secure your reservation. Deposits are non-refundable for any cancellations and will only be transferred to a new reservation.
Amendments and cancellations can be made 48 hours prior to 15:00 on the scheduled day of arrival. Any amendments or cancellations made outside of the specified cancellation period will incur a cancellation fee equivalent to the first night of the stay. This includes non-arrivals or instances where proof of cancellation cannot be provided if requested.
