Rosie Belsham at Matfen Hall

We are proud to sponsor rising golf star Rosie Belsham. A talented north east golfer, at just 22 Rosie is already on track to go pro.

One of the world’s leading amateur golfers, Rosie trained with us as a talented teenager and we’re thrilled to welcome her back to home ground. Our partnership gives Rosie access to the world-class facilities and the support she needs to compete at the highest levels and continue her rise to the professional game.

OUR PARTNERSHIP

An inspiration to many young and amateur golfers, we’re delighted to welcome Rosie back to her north east roots and to offer support as she continues in her journey to the pros. Our 27-hole championship course and world-class training facilities within our Academy and at The Golf Lab will provide the perfect base to develop, train and focus on her dream.

Our sponsorship and funding will also enable Rosie to go through to the Lalla Aicha Qualifying School in December this year.

LOCAL TALENT

Growing up in nearby Whitley Bay, Rosie’s ability for golf was clear from a young age. Starting out at just 9-years-old, she began by playing alongside her family and balancing her time between golf and hockey. From the ages of 14 to 16, Rosie trained at Matfen Hall under the guidance of coach, JJ Vallely. A natural talent, she swiftly progressed to national tournaments, deepening her commitment to golf and sparking an ambition to play professionally. At 18 she followed her dream across the Atlantic to Baylor University in Waco, Texas to study health, kinesiology and leisure. After graduation, Rosie returned to the UK and our championship course to continue her training and journey to the professional game.

A BRIGHT FUTURE

We look forward to sharing Rosie’ progress as she continues her training journey at Matfen Hall.

Her immediate goals include gaining experience on the Ladies’ European Tour Access series with the aim of securing her Ladies European Tour (LET) card at the Qualifying School in Morocco.

Looking further ahead, Rosie has her sights set on joining the Ladies PGA Tour in America.

Matfen Hall has always been a special place to me. Their facilities are outstanding, and the environment is perfect for focused training. Working with them feels like a match made in heaven. Their support means I can focus entirely on my performance as I transition into professional golf.
