With 27 picturesque holes available across three 9-hole courses, plus a smaller, 9-hole Par 3 course available, no matter which course you choose to play, Matfen Hall never disappoints. Set in secluded countryside, the unrivalled peace and tranquillity of our estate makes it a haven for local wildlife. As the course weaves through our estate you will share your round with native wildlife, including hawks, swans, buzzards and deer.

The Courses

Our parkland golf courses; Douglas, Standing Stone and Dewlaw are set within the beauty and origins of our Northumbrian estate and offer an enjoyable test for players of all abilities.

Whichever course you play, a range of natural challenges await. A dry-stone Ha Ha protecting a postage stamp green, a historic folly, mature woodland and picturesque water obstacles, including the fast-flowing River Pont will put your game to the test.

Navigating the golf course is a delight with the very latest GPS-enabled buggies available to hire, which can record your score and play music. Open 7 days a week, you can immerse yourself in breathtaking views of open countryside to enjoy an unforgettable day in our gentle corner of Northumberland.

The Par-3

Small but perfectly formed, our Par-3 course offers nine holes of top quality golf. Maintained to the same exacting standards, this course is a versatile option for all abilities. The Par-3 course is located next to the Driving Range and is a great option to put your practice into play. A challenging test for accomplished players, beginners and novice golfers can enjoy a more relaxed and informal introduction to the game.
