Join Us For An Unforgettable Burns Night In Northumberland

Join us to celebrate Burns Night in Northumberland and turn January into a time of feast, fireside moments and warm tradition.

Set in 300-acres of frosted Northumbrian parkland, the oak-panelled heritage and crackling fires of our Gothic manor offer an atmospheric and unforgettable setting to celebrate the great Scottish bard.

A Toast To Rabbie – our Burns Night event takes place on Saturday, 24th January 2026 from 7pm til late. An evening with all the traditional trimmings, arrive at Matfen Hall to the sound of a piper before warming your spirits by the fire with a welcome drink. Lads and lassies are then invited to take their seats for the traditional address to the haggis and authentic four-course Burns Night Dinner, followed by a barnstorming ceilidh dance.

And, why not make a night of it? Our overnight offer includes luxurious accommodation at Northumberland’s only 5 star hotel and an à la carte breakfast the following morning.

Arrive In Style

A night for your kilt, family tartan and best bib and tucker, begin 2026 with a sumptuous evening of rich Scottish tradition and decadent dining. Sweep into our tree-lined estate, aglow with candlelight and warm luxury, to begin your evening in 5 star style.

Your arrival will be heralded by a piper as you step into our magnificent Great Hall to enjoy a welcome tipple, warmed by the fire and lit by the jewelled light of its spectacular stained glass window.
