A Symphony Of Colour & Life
As July unfolded, scorching summer days were periodically interrupted by refreshing rain showers, creating the perfect conditions for our plants to thrive. July can truly be described as the crescendo of early summer, when nature’s palette bursts into vibrant life.
The garden is adorned with the delicate lavender blue of Nepeta Catmint and the acid yellow blooms of Alchemilla Mollis, spilling gracefully over the borders. In contrast, the deep violet hues of Salvia ‘Caradonna’ stand proud under the cheerful Echinacea and the elegant peach-coloured blossoms of our roses, creating a stunning visual tapestry. The Veronicastrums and Verbena Bonariensis sway gently in the breeze, beckoning butterflies and bees to join the celebration. Meanwhile, the ethereal flowers of Wisteria Chinensis and Ceanothus California Lilac, continue to hold their ground, still adding their charm.
Overall, July has been a month filled with beauty and joy in the garden.

Summer Surprises
As in any garden, surprises abound. This month, we encountered the stunning Rosemary Beetle. While its iridescent appearance is captivating, these pests can pose a threat to our beloved plants. Fortunately, so far there is minimal damage to report.
A delightful addition for July is a new rustic oak bench crafted from a fallen tree and placed in the heart of Woodland Walk. This simple seating area invites guests to pause and immerse themselves in the tranquil atmosphere, surrounded by the gentle rustle of leaves and the cheerful songs of birds.

August Magic
July was a month filled with beauty and joy in the garden and grounds. As we approached the last weeks of the month, it was time for the bittersweet task of pruning back the fading glory of our blooms. While it is a considerable task, it is essential for making way for the late summer beauty that lies ahead. The Rudbeckia ‘Goldsturm’, Anemone Japonica, and Echinops Globe Thistle are all beginning to bud, promising a new wave of colour and vibrancy, while the Roses and Echinacea continue their beautiful display.
